Are Disabled Widow's Benefits The Same Thing As Regular Widow's Benefits?

I have ssdi as a divorced disabled widow. i am fifty nine years old. i was married for nearly twenty five years.
I had to use my husband's work quarters to get ssdi benefits because i first became disabled at the age of 32 in 1989.
Am I entitled to survivor's widow benefits when i turn 62, in addition to the ssdi I currently receive? is disabled widow benefits the same thing as widow survivor benefits?
I have never remarried. Basic question is this- are disabled widow benefits the same thing as widow survivor benefits when I had to use his work quarters to get my ssdi? I was on ssdi from 1990 through 2002. I then worked sporadically off and on for several years but relapsed with my disability and got back on ssdi in august of
2013. Thank you so much for your help with this question.

Hi,

Yes, disabled widow's benefits are the same benefit as regular widow's benefits. Being disabled simply allows the widow to potentially become eligible for benefits at an earlier age.

So, it sounds like you're already receiving all of the survivor benefits for which you are eligible. And unless you are also receiving disability benefits on your own record, your disabled divorced widow's benefits will likely convert to regular divorced widow's benefits at the same rate when you reach full retirement age. About the only way that you could become entitled to a higher benefit rate in the future is if you are eligible for higher retirement benefits on your own record.

Best, Jerry
