Does My New York Pension Count As Money Earned?

Hi, I just began receiving my S.S. this year, at 62. I also just began a Part time job. I will be close to receiving approximately $19,400.00 or so by the end of December 2021, over the $18900.00 limit on employment. Does my N.Y. Pension count as/in my income for money earned. I also just began my Pension this year. Thank you, Frank

Hi Frank. No. Pension income does not count as earned income for purposes of Social Security's earnings test (https://www.ssa.gov/benefits/retirement/planner/whileworking.html).

Best, Jerry
