Can I Eliminate Social Security Disability And Not Have To Pay Back The Back I've Been Paid?

I Larry
I sent you an email at the school I guess

I just wanted to ask if you’re on Social Security disability and recently six years ago started collecting widows disabled benefits can I eliminate Social Security disability and not have to pay them back all the money they gave me over the years?

Like I want to eliminate my Social Security disability and go straight widows because I was told if I eliminate my Social Security disability that would increase to what my husband was entitled to

What Will Happen When I Turn 62?

I will turn 62 in 2022 im on ssi disability what will happen when i turn 62

Hi. Nothing will change when you turn 62. You could choose to start collecting Social Security retirement benefits instead of SSDI when you reach age 62, but then your benefit rate would be reduced for age. SSDI benefits are calculated at 100% of a person's primary insurance amount (PIA), which is equal to the amount of their Social Security retirement benefit if they start drawing at full retirement age (FRA).

Can My Employer Use A Special Pay Code To Report My Christmas Bonus As A Gift?

Hi Larry. I am on disability and am earning about $50 less a month than my limit at a part time job. My question is about a possible Christmas bonus. Is there a pay code that my employer could use that establishes a bonus as a gift and not earned income? As I say I am operating just below my limit so I believe any bonus that is considered earned income would violate me (for the last time). Or do I need to tell my employer not to give me a bonus to be safe? Thanks.

-Don.

Will A One-Time Receipt Of Income Jeopardize My SSDI Eligibility?

I am on SSDI and make below the SGA cap ($1100/month before taxes) at my part time job of many years. I post some of my artwork online but don’t do any sales; it’s just a casual hobby. A t shirt company saw one of my designs and wants to pay me $1200 in a one time payment to buy rights to it. I’d fill out the proper paperwork to reflect they are paying me as a contractor so this would be reported to the SSA as wages for that month, even though this is truly a random, one time thing that would never happen again.

Can I Lose My SSDI Benefits If I Start Working Part-Time?

Hi there, Can I lose my SSDI benefits if I start working part-time and have a disability from depression, but currently stable. I would like to work at least 15 works a week. I am just 43 years old and I graduated from college.

Hi. You could lose your Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits if you either work and earn too much to be considered as disabled, or if Social Security does a medical review and decides that your impairment is no longer considered disabling.
