Will I Continue To Receive My Own Retirement Benefits And Widow's Benefits?

I retired early I receive 600 a month, my husband died he was getting 1200 a month will I continue to receive my retirement along with survivor benefits?

Hi,

I'm sorry for your loss.

You will continue to receive your own retirement benefits plus an excess widow's benefit, but not a full widow's benefit. Your excess widow's benefit will essentially amount to the difference between your full widow's rate and your own benefit rate. So, your total benefit rate should be close to the amount that your husband was receiving, although it could vary somewhat depending on your current age and the age at which your husband started receiving his benefits.

Best, Jerry
