Will File And Suspend Help Me?

I will be 68 in 10 days.. will File and suspend help me at age 70. I was on ssd at age 55 at age 67 than it was change to retirement.

Hi,

You're already receiving retirement benefits, so you don't need to worry about the filing part. You can voluntarily suspend your retirement benefits and resume them at age 70, but this means that you will not receive any monthly benefits between the time you suspend your benefits and age 70. In return, you will receive an increased monthly amount when your benefits resume at age 70. The increase is equal to 2/3rds of 1% for each month of suspension, or 8% per year.

Best, Jerry
