What Income Counts When Determing SNAP Eligibility?

My wife and I both are 65 and retired. We both receive social security. She gets about $1450, I get about $850 and she gets a monthly pension of $350. We have no other income. Are these amounts considered income when applying for SNAP benefits?

Hi,

I'm not an expert on the SNAP program, but my understanding is that all of your income would count when determining your eligibility. For more information about the SNAP program, refer to this Social Security publication: https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10101.pdf.

Best, Jerry
