Can I Work And Still Get Benefits?

I am collecting both myself and my late husband's soc.security and his pension. He is deceased. I am taking a pt job @ $12.50+25 hrs per week. Can I do that and how much can I make per year! Thank you

Hi,

If you are under age 66 this year, you can earn up to $16,920 without affecting your benefits. If you turn 66 later this year, you could earn up to $44,880 in the months prior to when you turn 66 (https://www.ssa.gov/planners/retire/whileworking2.html). If you are already age 66 or older, there's no limit on the amount you can earn and still receive your benefits.

Best, Jerry
